My name is David . I’ve been a member at Liberty since 2006 , when I came along with my family – my wife Laura and our four children (Jane , Samuel , Luke and Olivia) .
This has been our home church over these years. When I was only 9 years old I made a lifelong commitment to simply trust and follow Jesus. I was baptised when I was 15 and became a member of Hamilton Baptist church. I was involved in many church activities as I grew up including The Boys Brigade (where I attended as a boy and then an officer ), Christian Endeavour, Sunday school,Bible class & Youth fellowship. I was privileged to have Christian parents as well as godly pastors to guide, teach and encourage me. This sparked a genuine excitement about the bible teaching both listening, understanding and participating that has continued throughout my life. The truth and reality of the bible has always had an impact. For some folks this might sound like a boring life for a young man but nothing was farther from the truth. For me this was a very special upbringing in so many areas.
As well as my Christian faith I have always had a great passion for sport whatever it is – well except swimming. I still like to find time to play in particular golf, football and tennis. I met my wife Laura in 1984 and we were married in 1989 – and we have lived in Motherwell for all these years. We have 4 children and we have tried throughout our lives to teach our kids how important our Christian faith is. We have faced many serious challenges over the years and still continue to have – but it is our faith in Jesus that we hold onto on a day to day basis .
